A NOTE ON SAFETY

The world of online gaming can be overwhelming for parents, so we're here to reassure you that your child will be safe playing the FIGHT THE WASTE videogame.

HOW WE KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE:

  • The FIGHT THE WASTE videogame is available via online download. These types of games do not require an age rating, however our game was developed with the age group of 14-20 in mind. There are displays of mild animal injury due to litter, which some young people might find upsetting. We want teenagers to realise the impact that waste has on animals, but we do not wish to cause undue upset.

  • Players are given a unique number to identify themselves with once they log in. Usernames and passwords are private and no real names are put up on the leaderboard. Players can share their unique numbers with their friends in real life, but will not be able to interact in-game.

  • We ask that players go to a local bin and scan a QR code in order to play the game. This is to show young people the location of public bins so they are more likely to use them. If your child is not mature enough to be on their own in public, we recommend you go on a walk with them to the local bin. Take some of your litter to put in!

Use our tracking system to find your nearest participating local bin.
